Neighborhood View relaunches, invites residents to help tell Malden’s stories
Neighborhood View, Malden’s community-powered news initiative, has relaunched and extends an invitation to residents: Help tell the stories of Malden. An upcoming Citizen Journalism 101 workshop welcomes community members to train as citizen reporters, and the program also offers other ways to contribute. The relaunch was formally announced at the Malden City Council meeting on December 16, where founder and coordinator Anne D’Urso-Rose presented an overview of the project’s goals and the variety of ways residents can get involved. D’Urso-Rose now works as a volunteer contractor to Urban Media Arts, where the initiative began in 2014. “Some of you remember an era when Malden had a daily newspaper and two weeklies.
