Neighborhood View is run under the auspices of Urban Media Arts (UMA), a community media arts center located in Malden, MA. The Neighborhood View Advisory Board is a subcommittee of the UMA Board of Directors that provides oversight and consulting specific to our citizen journalism initiative. Advisory Board members have special expertise in journalism and/or matters related to operating an online news publication.

Jonathan Bekemeier
Jonathan works as a Commercial/Web/Brand Director and directs high end commercials and videos of all types. As a member of the UMA Board of Directors, he serves as chair of the Neighborhood View Advisory Committee.
Diti Kohli
Diti Kohli is a business reporter at the Boston Globe. She previously worked as a producer for the Globe’s business and arts desks, as well as an intern at the Tampa Bay Times and as editor of The Berkeley Beacon. Diti interned at Neighborhood View in 2019, when she was a freshman at Emerson College.
Stephanie Schorow
Stephanie is a veteran journalist (Boston Herald, Boston Globe and others), writing instructor, and the author of nine nonfiction books on local Boston history. She is currently an instructor in the department of Mass Communication at Boston University. Stephanie also served as part-time editor for Neighborhood View from 2015-2022.
The Neighborhood View Advisory Board is actively recruiting additional members that can assist our team in realizing the full potential of Malden’s citizen journalism initiative.
