To enliven the city with live music, Malden’s PorchFest is returning for its fourth year on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 12 to 6pm, with a new location and a flurry of new performances: bigger and better than its previous years.
“We want Malden PorchFest to be reflective of the diversity present in our community. PorchFest is for everyone!” Sarah McDonald, the organizer for Malden PorchFest, told Neighborhood View in an email.
As of McDonald’s email on May 8, there are 140 performers, up from 120 in 2024. Last year, 46 people signed up to host performances, while there are 58 hosts this year. While PorchFest usually closes registrations a month before the event, they decided to leave it open this year to allow as many folks as possible to participate.
There will also be a new location for performances at the Bike to the Sea Bike Kitchen on Canal St., she shared.
“2025 is a time when community connection matters more than ever and Malden PorchFest offers a positive way to grow community and enjoy music,” McDonald said, adding that they are “looking to grow each year and also to connect with more neighborhoods and increase participation with hosts, performers and attendees.”
McDonald said that they are always on the lookout for more volunteers as the event approaches. Check out maldenporchfest.org for the current map with schedule.
Here’s reflecting on the energy and excitement from PorchFest last year:
